Denver's walkable neighborhoods cluster around downtown, Capitol Hill, the Highlands, RiNo, and Wash Park. The RTD light rail and commuter rail cover key corridors including DIA, but most of the metro remains car-oriented.
LoDo, Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek, the Highlands, RiNo (River North), Wash Park (Washington Park), and Berkeley/Tennyson are the most walkable. Each has dense local retail and access to parks or transit.
Light rail covers a few key corridors (downtown to DIA via the A Line; downtown south to RidgeGate; downtown west to Golden). Bus coverage is broader but less frequent. Many residents still drive for most trips.
Anywhere on the western side of the metro (Golden, Lakewood, west Denver) gets you to the foothills faster. RiNo and the Highlands have good Cherry Creek Trail access for biking.
